June 10th - Aerial and sea surveillance over the wreckage of the cruise liner Sun Vista in the Malacca Straits will be maintained for at least another week to monitor further oil spill, said Department of Environment Director-General Rosnani Ibarahim. Although the department had ceased cleaning up an earlier oil spill, monitoring activities would go on, she said. "We need to know whether or not there is any leakage of oil coming from the ship...there is no 100 per cent guarantee that oil is not coming from the ship," she told reporters in Port Dickson.
June 3rd - Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik said today. "I expect the report from the Northern Region Marine Department to reach me in a few days from now," he told reporters, "After studying the report, the government will study further action and make an announcement," he said
