WE WERE TOO!
When an event like that happens, and in many cases so far from home ...... lack of information afterwards makes it all the more distressing .....
This website has been put together to help convey that information to those who want it .......
WE
WERE THERE REMEMBER ....
5 hours on a burning ship before
evacuation
6 hours in a lifeboat .... many with no supplies

hours on the rescue vessel ... before we reached land
In
our case the rescue ship was SS VENUS - a Russian Freighter .... who were
outstanding in their efforts to make us all as comfortable as possible
....

to all the crew of the Venus, that picked us up .................
Everyone will have their own interpretation of the events .... some were luckier than others .... some found the Sun Vista crew to be calm ... others found them to be panic stricken .... some lifeboats launched quickly ... others had serious problems ..... the purpose of this site is to convey information to anyone interested in it - and we welcome input from those who were there and those that weren't ... maybe you're ex crew or passenger and you know a little about the Sun Vista and it's history ... or maybe you just want to lament on what is the tragic loss of such a great ship .... no matter what your thoughts are please contact us .... and thank god you're alive !!
p.s. did those crazy aussies really sing the theme to 'titanic' on their lifeboat cos I'm buggered if I could hear them .....
